All properties being sold both freehold and leasehold require as part of the legal documentation a Home Information Pack (HIP), this pack contains details of the property used in the conveyance process, including lease or title deeds, local searches and an Energy Performance Certificate. The EPC shows in graphical form (A-G similar to white goods) the carbon footprint of the property together with a list of recommendations for improving the energy efficiency of the building.
A HIP can be purchased independent of an Estate Agent by the property owner/ agent so as not to be tied to one Estate Agent.
